Old Main

Old Main is WSU's signature building. It houses the Grosscup Museum of Anthropology, Thomas Edison's mineral collection, a planetarium, rehearsal space for dance, music and theatre, 45 classrooms, and several administrative offices.

Rock Climbers

At the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center, WSU offers opportunities to play on campus.

Sand Art

Located behind our state-of-the-art residence halls, the sand pit is used for more than just volleyball.

Detroit hosts three major sports teams minutes from campus: the Tigers (baseball), the Lions (football) and the Red Wings (ice hockey).

Ice Skaters

Located in the entertainment district, Campus Martius Park offers the Fourth Fridays concerts in the summer and the Motown Winter Blast in the winter, showing why it was voted the 4th best public square in North America by the Urban Land Institute.

Spirit of Detroit

The Spirit of Detroit is the unofficial mascot for city, and wears jerseys for sports teams when they make the championship round. The 26 foot tall cast bronze statue even donned a tuxedo in homage during the Three Tenors' visit to Detroit.
